Darling Daughter Co: Having a Growth Mindset

Fixed mindset: being praised for being really smart and gifted, but not knowing that it’s all about effort. No resilience when you don’t achieve what you want. Growth mindset: you have the capability to learn new things through work. If you work harder, work differently, work at the problem from a new angle, try again, you’ll figure it out. (Information taken from Take Control of Your Life by Mel Robbins) A good friend and mentor helped me see something. Recently I achieved a status at something that I didn’t think would happen and it was so invigorating. I was on...

Time to be Real and Raw...

Journal Entry - 4/25/19 ”There are so many thoughts swirling around in my head that I fear I may have trouble sorting them out as I write. I have so many things going on right now- other than my top priorities, my husband and kids, I’m committed to a number of things. I have my online clothing boutique with occasional pop-ups. I recently switched our home to more natural products and have spent quite some time referring friends and family to be customers, treating it as my career to be honest. Not about anyone in particular, just regarding church and how hard it seems to really connect with people these days. After finally surrendering those feelings and...

Beauty is Fleeting; Our Identity is Not

Proverbs 31 is speaking truth to me today. As I wrestle with body image issues and the constant lies from the enemy trying to attack my thought life, this verse speaks loudly. My heart goes out to all the girls and women out there fighting this same battle- the battle of loving ourselves for who we are. There’s a fine line between loving ourselves the way He made us and thinking so highly of ourselves so as to be arrogant and conceited. Loving ourselves does not mean putting our value above others or constantly putting ourselves out there to get affirmation from others....
